College Basketball: Number 1 goes down...

Tuesday night the unranked South Carolina Gamecocks hosted the the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky was ranked number 1 going into this game and was looking to roll and keep there unbeaten season alive. But Coach Horn (Carolina's Men Basketball Coach) had other plans for Kentucky.

Carolina wasn't ranked and hasn't this season due to down falls all season when starting forward Dominique Archie went down with a season ending injury and Mike Holmes getting kicked off the team. But on this night it was all Carolina. They came out looking good and only got better. Coach Horn is a young coach and seems to have a good connection with his team. Good chemistry and shooting helped the gamecocks in what is said to be the biggest win in team history. Other causes of this big win for the Gamecocks were Kentucky's missed layups and other easy shots that should have gone for them. With this the Gamecocks got more and more confidence in themselves which made this victory possible.

But the real question that should be asked when upsets like these happen are : Was this win by lucky, skill, and would this outcome happen again if these two teams matched up? Also, was the number 1 team in the country good enough or worthy enough to be the #1 team, if they fall to a team that should be a(n) easy win?
